Bake:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Place seasoned tuna on a lightly oiled baking dish or parchment-lined tray. Bake for 8–10 minutes for medium-rare or up to 12 minutes for medium-well, depending on thickness. Let rest briefly before slicing.
Grill:
Preheat grill to high heat. Sear tuna steaks for 2–3 minutes per side for a tender, pink center (medium-rare). For more doneness, add 1–2 more minutes per side.
Skillet:
Heat a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over high heat. Add a touch of sesame or avocado oil. Sear tuna for 1.5–2 minutes per side for medium-rare. Press lightly for even contact. Let rest for 2 minutes before slicing.
Air Fryer:
Preheat air fryer to 390°F. Lightly oil the tuna and cook for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through. Great for medium doneness. For rare, check at 5 minutes.
Serving Suggestion:
Chilled soba noodles, spring salad mix, or sesame cucumber salad. Garnish with scallions, a drizzle of ponzu, or a splash of yuzu juice for brightness.
